Evening Kites

Kite blocks are the focus of this quilt, this version looks like it is set against a darkened sky.  A perfect design for someone who likes a little challenge.  This is a template quilt with the Evening Kites Templates within the pattern.  Four different quilt blocks make up this quilt: Three different kite blocks and the Hidden Star Block is made up of square-in-a-square blocks.  The setting is “on point” so a lot of new techniques will be instructed.  80″x97″

Sashiko and Visible Mending

Students will be introduced to the history and cultural aspects of Sashiko, textiles, materials, dyes and Boro embroidery and the more modern concept of visible repairs to rejuvenate worn or damaged textiles and other objects.

A slide show will be presented of Sashiko/Boro/Repaired items for inspiration and examination.

This is a technique class. Students will work on small sampler pieces that can be used as desired, for perhaps a table mat, wall hanging, bag or as embellishments on garments, etc.

The kit includes traditional Sashiko fabric, embroidery thread Sashiko 8 embroidery needles Carbon/ tracing paper.

Easy Diamonds

Scrap Pillow Cover

This is a fun, improv, free-form technique. The size of the pillow cover depends on the pillow that the student wishes to cover. Dig into those scrap bins for bits and pieces, or grab that jelly roll, charm pack, or layer cake that you just had to have but haven’t figured out the best project for yet!  

Whirly Blooms

Learn three of the designer’s favorite quiltng elements (Flying Geese, Square-in-a- square, and Triangle-in-a-Square) to make a fun and happy Whirly Blooms quilt, designed to go with Riley Blake’s Midnight Garden fabric collection. Whirly Blooms is a repeating 16″ block, allowing the student to find their rhythm and get quite a few blocks done in class. Students will leave with a great sense of accomplishment! 70″x70″

Big Fat Wedding Ring
